Christ was obedient to death (Philippians 2:8) so that today we can be obedient to life.
Christ is the perfected fulfillment of obedience. Through His obedience we have our prescriptive plan for living life
in abundance. Obedience from a Biblical understanding is the believer’s blessing, protection and inheritance.
Satan knows this and tries his best to deceive us into believing that God’s command of obedience is to be
feared or keep us from all the “good” things. He is a liar, so don’t let him buffet you from obeying the Lord.
God’s purpose for our obedience is so we can walk in the power and fellowship of knowing Christ.
He is resurrection and life revealed and we come to this revelation through obedience.
God’s command of obedience is to be an interwoven part of our life. This is so we can experience His love,
presence and gift of eternal life.
“As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands
you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may
be in you and that your joy may be complete.” John 15:9-11
Make a commitment to obey His Word. Begin by agreeing with His truths on obedience (John 14:21, 23, Hebrews 5:7-10)
and then meditate on what He shows you daily. Feast on His Word by rereading verses that resonate in your heart. Include these verses in your devotional and
prayer time until you are strengthened and renewed. Ask the Holy Spirit to remove fearful thought patterns and behaviors that keep you in disobedience
and fear. Demolish contrary ideas about God and replace them with truth from the Bible. Willfully yield (submit) to God’s love—even in the midst of the fear, doubt
or difficulty—so you can experience His peace. Delight in your obedience--rejoicing that Christ is your life, your victory and your great reward!
If you have never asked Jesus Christ in your life and been set free from a life of eternal seperation,
take the time now and ask Him into your heart. This is the first step to being delivered and set free.
Accept Christ’s love (John 3:16); Believe in your heart that Christ died just for you (Romans 10:9); and
Confess you are a sinner needing Him as your Savior (Romans 3:23). If this is your heart’s prayer, email me. I would love to
hear from you.

Personal Commitment of Prayer
“If you love me, you will obey what I command. And, I will ask the Father, and he will give
you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him because it neither sees
him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
~John 14:15-17~
Dear Lord, Help me and teach me to love You more and more daily.
Help me to understand and see that my obedience to You is interwoven with my love for You. Help me Lord,
not to be afraid of obeying the Spirit of truth in me. Help me to recognize that in my obedience I actually
demonstrate my great love towards You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Prayer Focus: Obedience
This month pray that you, and others in your life, will make Spirit-led decisions to obey the Lord in all your daily activities,
commitments and relationships. Pray that the Lord would open your eyes to His Spirit in you and that you would only be lead and
directed by Him. Pray that you will remain in a place of submission to His Word…understanding that in your obedience you
receive His complete joy and life.
“…but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found
in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross!” Philippians 2:7-8
